ITIDA Launches Software Testing Competition – May 2026
The Software Engineering Efficiency Center (SEEC), affiliated with the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), has announced the launch of the Software Testing Competition – May 2026, as part of the 4th Software Testing Day. The initiative aims to promote open innovation and encourage creative solutions that address real-world challenges in software testing, while enhancing the quality of digital products.
The competition provides a competitive platform for university students and professionals to showcase innovative ideas and transform them into practical, implementable solutions—either as prototypes or fully functional software. It focuses on advanced areas of software testing, including intelligent test case generation, automated test scripting, defect reporting and root cause analysis, synthetic test data generation, test scheduling and prioritization, as well as self-healing automation scripts. Submissions of other innovative ideas that can make a tangible impact in software testing are also welcome.
Participation is open to bachelor’s students and professionals, including testers, developers, and engineers. Each team can have up to five members, with each participant allowed to join one team only and submit one idea per team. Teams must choose names that adhere to ethical standards and general decency, and participate independently without representing any company or organization.
The competition’s first phase runs until February 5, 2026, for idea submission. Results of the acceptance phase will be announced on February 15, 2026. Ideas will be evaluated based on relevance, clarity, originality, innovation, and expected impact.
The pre-final phase will take place online from March 26, 2026, where accepted teams present prototypes or software solutions in English. The final phase will be held in-person on May 11, 2026, at the Creativa Egypt Digital Innovation Center in Giza, coinciding with the 4th Software Testing Day. Three winning teams will be selected, with prize details to be announced later.
