Protect Your World: Kaspersky Launches a Free Online Course on Cyber Hygiene
Kaspersky has announced the launch of a new free online course on cyber hygiene, designed to help internet users of all ages and backgrounds understand the essentials of digital safety. The course provides clear, practical guidance on how to protect oneself and loved ones from cyberthreats in an increasingly connected world.
With people spending an average of nearly seven hours online every day, vast amounts of personal data are exposed to cyber risks. In 2024 alone, Kaspersky detected 4.9 billion cyberattacks worldwide, underscoring the urgent need for stronger awareness of phishing, scams, and digital fraud. The Cyber Hygiene course aims to make basic cybersecurity knowledge accessible and easy to understand for everyone, regardless of their technical background.
The program, available for free on the Kaspersky Academy platform, includes 15 concise video lessons, each lasting 15–20 minutes. Participants will learn how to secure personal data, safely use email and social networks, make online purchases confidently, and identify phishing and phone fraud attempts. One dedicated module also focuses on online safety for children, helping parents and guardians recognize and mitigate digital risks.
Each lesson concludes with key takeaways and cybersecurity tips, and participants who wish to receive a certificate can complete a final assessment to validate their knowledge. The course is entirely open-access and does not require prior registration.
Evgeniya Russkikh, Head of Academic Affairs at Kaspersky, commented:
> “As the digital world evolves rapidly, cybersecurity awareness often lags behind, leaving users vulnerable to scammers. Many people, especially older users, struggle to keep up with technology and use it safely, while younger users are frequently targeted by online fraud. The Cyber Hygiene course was created to make cybersecurity simple, relatable, and actionable — empowering everyone to recognize threats and protect themselves. This initiative is part of Kaspersky’s ongoing mission to build a safer digital world.”
