Gold Prices Drop by EGP 225 as Market Retreats from Record Highs on Tuesday
Gold prices in Egypt reversed earlier gains and fell sharply during evening trading on Tuesday, shedding EGP 225 per gram over the course of the day, according to Nady Naguib, former Secretary General of the Gold Division at the Cairo Chamber of Commerce.
Prices initially hit a record high of EGP 5,890 per gram for 21-karat gold in early morning trading — the highest level on record — before declining by EGP 105 by midday to EGP 5,785. By evening, the price had dropped further, marking a total daily decline of EGP 225.

Global Gold Market:
On the international market, gold prices also declined, falling 4.32% to around $4,164 per ounce (equivalent to 31.1 grams of 24-karat gold), according to the latest data from Bloomberg.
The pullback in both local and global gold prices comes amid heightened market volatility and profit-taking after recent record-breaking gains.
