CIT Boosts Regional Expansion of Egyptian Tech Firms at GITEX Global Dubai 2025, Securing $54 Million in Deals and Strategic Partnerships

The Chamber of Information Technology and Communication Industry (CIT) – the driving force behind Egypt’s digital industry – marked a significant milestone at GITEX Global Dubai 2025, fostering regional expansion for Egyptian technology firms through a series of strategic partnerships, awards, and commercial deals totaling $54 million.

With over 6,800 exhibitors from 180 countries and 2,000 startups, including eight Egyptian startups, GITEX 2025 showcased cutting-edge innovations across artificial intelligence, quantum computing, cybersecurity, biotechnology, 5G, and smart city technologies.

Egyptian Companies Seal High-Value Deals

Among the highlights, Storm Technologies, a leading Egyptian manufacturer of smartphones and electronics, announced $54 million in new deals and partnerships, reinforcing its regional footprint across North Africa and sub-Saharan markets from its regional hub in Dubai’s Free Zone.

Meanwhile, Digital Planets, a leading provider of digital transformation and IT solutions, signed a strategic cybersecurity partnership with SonicWall, the global leader in threat detection and protection solutions, to introduce next-generation security technologies across the Middle East.

Egyptian AI startup TestFlow AI also earned international acclaim, winning the Deep Tech & Innovation Award at the Expand North competition held alongside GITEX, recognizing its breakthroughs in semiconductor innovation and applied artificial intelligence.

Building a Regional Technology Ecosystem

Eng. Khaled Ibrahim, Chairman of CIT, emphasized that the chamber’s participation aligns with its vision to open new global markets for Egyptian IT companies and strengthen their contribution to digital transformation efforts across the Gulf region.

> “Our goal is to build a unified Arab technology ecosystem that drives innovation, collaboration, and sustainable growth,” Ibrahim said. “The Gulf market presents vast opportunities for Egyptian tech products, especially as regional governments accelerate digital transformation through smart government initiatives and AI-driven infrastructure.”

He added that the CIT delegation worked to promote Egyptian tech solutions, forge new distribution and agency agreements, and support partnerships between Egyptian and Gulf companies, highlighting the chamber’s readiness to facilitate and endorse future collaborations.

Partnership with the Arab ICT Union

Eng. Ahmed El-Subki, CIT Board Member and Head of the Chamber’s delegation at GITEX, revealed that CIT held discussions with the Arab Union for ICT to finalize a strategic cooperation agreement next month aimed at localizing innovation, advancing knowledge exchange, and supporting sustainable development across the Arab world.

> “Through this collaboration, we aim to deliver advanced software solutions, specialized training programs, and joint initiatives in technology, education, and human capital development,” El-Subki stated.

He noted that participation in GITEX provided an ideal platform to promote Egyptian innovation, explore export opportunities in the Gulf ICT market, and foster collaboration in digital transformation projects.

Expanding Egypt’s Technological Footprint

CIT’s strategy focuses on helping Egyptian IT firms build regional partner networks, understand market dynamics, and scale their high-value digital products internationally.

Egypt aims to increase technology exports to over $9 billion by 2026, up from $6.2 billion in 2024, driven by rapid growth in outsourcing and digital services, reflecting a 26.5% annual growth rate in 2024.

As Egypt strengthens its presence on the regional tech stage, CIT’s efforts at GITEX underscore the country’s growing potential as a hub for innovation, talent, and digital exports in the Arab world.
