Meta to unveil Hypernova smart glasses with a display, wristband

Meta is preparing to unveil its first consumer smart glasses with a built-in display, codenamed Hypernova, at its Connect conference next month.
The glasses, expected to cost around $800, will be launched with Luxottica (maker of Ray-Ban and Prada frames) and paired with a wristband that lets users control them using neural signals from hand movements.
The display will be limited, showing simple content like messages, but the glasses will also support calls, photos, videos, audio playback, and interaction with an AI assistant. Meta is also working on a new generation of its voice-only smart glasses. While expectations for sales are modest due to the heavier design, the launch marks a major step in Meta’s push toward augmented reality wearables.
