True digital transformation begins with empowering people, not merely deploying technology, said Joe Xu, CEO of Huawei Cloud Egypt, during a roundtable session held on the sidelines of the Huawei Cloud North Africa Summit 2025.

Speaking to over 600 industry leaders, policymakers, and technology experts attending the summit, Xu emphasized the need to prioritize human capital development as the foundation for meaningful and inclusive digital progress.

> “We believe that digital transformation doesn’t start with machines – it starts with people,” said Xu. “Alongside the Egyptian government, we are committed to supporting comprehensive transformation through not only cutting-edge cloud and AI technologies, but also training, capacity building, and enabling small and medium enterprises to thrive in the digital era.”

He also highlighted Egypt’s strategic role as a regional hub for Huawei Cloud’s operations, noting the company’s focus on delivering tailored digital solutions in key sectors such as healthcare, education, and transportation. These efforts, he said, are aimed at ensuring broader and fairer access to digital services nationwide.

The Huawei Cloud North Africa Summit has become an annual platform for showcasing innovation success stories across African markets and sharing best practices for achieving sustainable and inclusive digital transformation.
