ICT Minister Visits VXI Egypt to Review Expansion Plans and Strengthen BPO Sector Collaboration

Wednesday 18 June 2025 22:25

Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Amr Talaat, has visited the Cairo office of VXI Global Solutions, a global leader in customer experience (CX) and business process outsourcing (BPO) services. The visit comes as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to bolster Egypt’s position as a regional hub for digital services and offshoring investments.

Dr. Talaat was accompanied by a high-level delegation including VXI’s Chief Operating Officer Ryan Collins, Global Chief HR Officer Erika King, ITIDA CEO Ahmed Elzaher, and VXI’s VP of Operations in Egypt, the Middle East, and Africa Ahmed Bahgat, alongside senior officials from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and company executives.

During the visit, VXI officials presented an overview of the company’s operations and future expansion strategy in Egypt. The company plans to increase its workforce from over 1,000 to more than 5,000 employees by 2028, backed by a projected investment of USD 135 million.

In his remarks, Dr. Talaat stressed that the visit reflects MCIT’s commitment to engaging with global players in the offshoring sector. “Egypt is steadily becoming a top-tier destination for digital service delivery. Our vision is centered on creating an enabling environment that attracts multinational investments and fuels sustainable industry growth,” he said.

He added that Egypt continues to witness an uptick in the establishment of delivery centers, driven by investments in digital upskilling, sector-specific incentives, and growing global demand for high-quality outsourced services. The Minister also interacted with young Egyptian professionals at VXI, highlighting the government’s efforts to empower youth through digital training programs that align with international job market needs.

VXI COO Ryan Collins noted that Egypt’s unique value proposition—cost-effective operations, a rich pool of multilingual talent, and strategic positioning within the EMEA region—has been instrumental to the company’s rapid growth. “Our expansion in Egypt is not only a business decision; it’s a vote of confidence in the Egyptian talent and the robust support ecosystem in place,” he added.

ITIDA CEO Ahmed Elzaher emphasized that VXI’s investment is a strong testament to global trust in Egypt’s digital economy. “The offshoring industry plays a vital role in driving digital exports and job creation. With a well-established digital infrastructure and strong talent pipeline, Egypt offers one of the most compelling ecosystems for BPO growth worldwide,” he said.

VXI began operations in Egypt in March 2024 after establishing its presence in December 2023. The Cairo office serves clients across Germany, Italy, Spain, France, the Netherlands, and the United States, offering services in six languages. Its Egypt expansion is central to its global growth strategy, driven by the rising global demand for digitally enabled CX services.

Ahmed Bahgat, VXI’s regional VP, commended the Egyptian government’s ongoing support for the BPO industry, which he said has helped place Egypt among the top three global destinations for offshoring investments.
