Egypt’s ICT Minister Visits Rome to Advance Bilateral Digital Cooperation with Italy

Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Amr Talaat, has arrived in Rome for a two-day official visit, responding to an invitation extended by Italy’s Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso.
The visit is a follow-up to the discussions held in Cairo in April 2024 during Minister Urso’s official visit to Egypt, where both sides explored opportunities to deepen bilateral cooperation in the fields of digital transformation and artificial intelligence (AI), with a shared vision of using emerging technologies to drive inclusive development.
Dr. Talaat’s visit aims to reinforce strategic collaboration between Egypt and Italy in the ICT sector, with a particular emphasis on AI innovation. The meetings align with Egypt’s broader efforts to strengthen international partnerships, foster technology transfer, and position the country as a regional hub for digital investment.
As part of the agenda, the ICT Minister is expected to hold a series of high-level meetings with senior Italian government officials and executives from leading Italian technology companies. The discussions will focus on fostering joint initiatives, facilitating knowledge exchange, and showcasing the investment potential of Egypt’s fast-growing ICT sector.
The visit underscores the Egyptian government's commitment to accelerating digital development and building resilient partnerships that support economic growth through innovation.
