Egyptian Exchange and National Media Authority Sign Protocol to Enhance Financial Literacy and Economic Media
The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has signed a joint cooperation protocol with the National Media Authority (NMA) to promote financial awareness among citizens and enhance specialized media coverage of economic news and capital market developments across various national media platforms.
The agreement aims to broaden investment knowledge, simplify trading concepts, and improve economic content presented to the public, thereby fostering awareness of saving and long-term investment opportunities.
The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Ahmed Al-Muslimani, Chairman of the National Media Authority, and Omar Radwan, Chairman of the Egyptian Exchange. The protocol was signed by Mohamed Sabry, Vice Chairman of the EGX, and Mohamed Ibrahim, Head of the Television Sector, in the presence of Manal Al-Daftar, Head of Channel One, along with several leaders from Maspero and the EGX.
Ahmed Al-Muslimani: Simplifying Financial Concepts is a Top Priority for National Television
Ahmed Al-Muslimani emphasized that covering stock market news and capital market movements is a top priority for Egyptian Television, whether through specialized economic programs or segments tailored for the whole family. He explained that the NMA is dedicated to directing production teams to simplify economic concepts, ensuring information reaches investors and millions of viewers smoothly, while confirming the immediate implementation of the protocol.
Omar Radwan: Building Investment Awareness is Essential for Capital Market Development
For his part, Omar Radwan highlighted that advancing the Egyptian capital market relies heavily on building a conscious and sustainable investment culture that empowers citizens to make sound financial decisions. He noted that partnering with a national institution like Maspero is a strategic step toward transferring economic knowledge from specialists to all segments of society, boosting small investors' confidence, and ensuring a reliable flow of economic data.
Specialized Training and Media Programs to Drive Financial Literacy
The protocol includes enhancing daily and weekly economic coverage by offering simplified visual formats—such as segments titled "Two Words in Economics"—to explain trading concepts in accessible language. Furthermore, it covers organizing workshops and training programs for media professionals to elevate economic coverage skills, alongside forming a joint coordinating committee to oversee execution and turn cooperation areas into sustainable action plans.
