Alameda Healthcare Accelerates Digital Transformation With AI-Powered Medical Records

Alameda Healthcare Prepares for Electronic Health Records Rollout

Alameda Healthcare Group is set to begin implementing an electronic health records (EHR) system across its hospitals as part of a broader digital transformation strategy focused on artificial intelligence and more efficient healthcare delivery.

Neeraj Mishra, CEO of Alameda Healthcare Group, said the company spent around a year customizing the EHR system to meet its medical and operational requirements. The system was developed using a product from Portuguese company “M-Tom,” according to the presentation.

Implementation is scheduled to begin in the month following the conference, with the group planning to focus on expanding the system across its facilities over the subsequent six months. Doctors, nurses, consultants and various administrative teams will be involved in the rollout.

AI to Support Medical Documentation

The new system is designed to use AI to simplify the documentation of medical notes. Doctors, consultants and nursing staff will be able to dictate information verbally in Arabic and its dialects instead of entering data manually, with spoken information converted into electronic records.

Alameda already operates an internal data center and an enterprise resource planning system, in addition to a unified medical record number for patients, supporting greater integration between its various systems.

The group’s mobile application has recorded around 75,000 downloads since its launch in the middle of this year, with Alameda targeting more than one million downloads during the coming year.

The company said its digital transformation strategy aims to create a healthcare system better prepared for technological developments, improve patient access to services and increase the efficiency of medical information management across its hospitals.

The statements were made during Alameda Healthcare Group’s annual conference, where the company presented its plans for digital transformation, technology infrastructure development and the adoption of AI solutions in healthcare services.

Alameda Partners With Houston Methodist

Alongside its digital transformation plans, Alameda Healthcare Group is also set to draw on the expertise of US-based Houston Methodist to develop specialized medical services.

The partnership is intended to support the launch of a new hospital and advance organ transplantation and specialized care programs.

Mishra said cooperation with Houston Methodist began in January and will continue through the hospital’s operational phase. Dr. Osama Gaber, head of the US institution’s organ transplantation program, is participating in efforts to support the hospital’s development.

New Hospital to Feature Advanced Digital Infrastructure

Alameda plans to establish a hospital supported by advanced digital infrastructure and designed to expand specialized healthcare services, with the ambition of becoming a destination for patients from Egypt and across Africa.

The international partnership will extend beyond the establishment phase into operations, helping the group develop medical practices, treatment pathways and clinical governance.

At the same time, Alameda is strengthening its organ and bone marrow transplantation programs and expanding its capabilities in treating complex medical cases as part of a strategy focused on specialized fields with high therapeutic value.

Mishra emphasized that the group aims to leverage international expertise to improve healthcare quality and implement advanced medical practices across its facilities, strengthening Alameda’s ability to compete at the regional level.
