Food Export Council: Top 15 Markets Account for 60% of Egypt’s Processed Food Exports, Valued at USD 2.67 Billion
The Food Export Council (FEC) announced that Egypt’s top 15 destination markets for processed food exports accounted for approximately 60% of the sector’s total exports during January–July 2026, with a combined value of USD 2.67 billion, out of total processed food exports of approximately USD 4.47 billion during the same period.
The Council highlighted that the diversity of Egypt’s leading export destinations—including Arab markets, European Union countries, the United States, and China—reflects the broad geographical reach of Egyptian processed food exports. It also demonstrates Egyptian companies’ ability to strengthen their presence in traditional markets while expanding into markets with strong and growing demand.
Saudi Arabia ranked first among Egypt’s leading processed food export destinations, with exports reaching USD 363 million, accounting for approximately 8% of the sector’s total exports during January–July 2026.
The United States ranked second, with exports valued at USD 290 million, representing approximately 6% of Egypt’s total processed food exports.
Libya ranked third with USD 196 million, followed by Jordan with USD 194 million, the Netherlands with USD 189 million, and Spain with USD 188 million. Sudan recorded USD 183 million, while exports to Algeria reached USD 159 million. Each of these markets accounted for approximately 4% of Egypt’s total processed food exports.
Exports to Iraq reached USD 156 million, while Palestine and China each recorded USD 142 million. Exports to Italy amounted to USD 135 million, with each of these markets accounting for approximately 3% of total sector exports.
Meanwhile, exports to the United Arab Emirates reached USD 126 million, while the United Kingdom recorded USD 108 million and Germany USD 99 million, with each market accounting for approximately 2% of total processed food exports.
The figures highlight the continued diversification of Egypt’s processed food export markets, with strong demand across Arab and European markets and the United States, alongside growing access to major international markets such as China.
