Egyptian Pound Firms Against US Dollar to EGP 50.80 at Central Bank as Arab Currencies Ease
The Egyptian pound recorded modest gains against the US dollar during Tuesday trading, with official rates settling at EGP 50.76 for buy and EGP 50.80 for sell, according to the latest official bulletin from the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
Across major commercial and state-owned banks, exchange rates demonstrated tight pricing discipline. State lenders National Bank of Egypt (NBE) and Banque Misr, alongside Commercial International Bank (CIB), quoted the greenback at EGP 50.77 for buy and EGP 50.87 for sell.
Meanwhile, Arab currencies retreated against the Egyptian pound. The Saudi Riyal traded between EGP 13.49 and EGP 13.56, while the UAE Dirham held between EGP 13.81 and EGP 13.86 across leading banking institutions.
