Textile Industries Chamber Launches Tax, Insurance, and Customs Support Service for Members

The Chamber of Textile Industries at the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI) has officially rolled out a new tax, insurance, and customs support and consultation service for its member companies.
The newly adopted mechanism involves receiving and thoroughly reviewing company requests, as well as allocating a dedicated monthly session to discuss pending files. These sessions will be held in the presence of **Dr. Fayez El-Dabaany**, former Head of the Egyptian Tax Authority and the Chamber’s current advisor for tax, insurance, and customs affairs, with the aim of providing specialized technical solutions and expert advice to member companies.
Enhancing the Business Environment
**Mohamed El-Kateb**, Chairman of the Chamber of Textile Industries, stated that the chamber has activated the technical and advisory support system after finalizing its operational mechanisms. This initiative reflects the chamber’s ongoing commitment to upgrading the services provided to its general assembly members and offering practical solutions to the sector's most pressing challenges.
El-Kateb added that the chamber aims to establish a direct communication channel with companies to address complex financial and regulatory files—particularly those requiring specialized technical opinions or clarifications on new legislation. This effort is designed to facilitate a smoother business environment and ensure the operational stability of factories.
The chamber will handle the intake of members' requests and inquiries, preparing them for presentation during the periodic meetings. Companies will be notified of their scheduled appointments based on the specific nature of each case, ensuring rapid and effective problem-solving. El-Kateb also revealed that the next phase of the chamber's plan will introduce additional advisory services covering various areas of interest to the industrial sector.

**Dr. Mohamed Fathy**, a Board Member of the Chamber, emphasized that launching this service is a practical step toward reinforcing the chamber's supportive role. By providing a specialized technical umbrella, the chamber helps companies navigate tax, insurance, and customs files within proper legal frameworks, thereby mitigating potential operational hurdles and stabilizing the business climate.
Fathy noted that having direct access to specialized experts to discuss challenges and receive practical solutions significantly raises awareness of new legislations. This support allows factories to shift their focus toward increasing production and expanding investments, ultimately boosting the competitiveness of the textile sector and maximizing its contribution to the national economy.
Streamlining Procedures and Resolutions
**Dr. Fayez El-Dabaany** highlighted that the new service is tailored to deliver expert technical consultations and resolve disputes in strict accordance with the latest laws and regulations.
He explained that the regular meetings will not only address individual company cases but also brief members on recent tax amendments, simplified accounting mechanisms, and the latest facilitations and tax exemptions approved by the Ministry of Finance, ensuring that companies can fully leverage these benefits.
El-Dabaany advised that companies can submit their requests and relevant documents to the chamber ahead of the scheduled meetings. This allows the advisory team to review the files and prepare appropriate solutions in advance. He reiterated that the ultimate goal of the initiative is to provide rapid, effective support and remove operational obstacles to foster a healthier business environment within the textile industry.
