Stay In and Stream the Best of Disney+ This Summer
Some seasons are for going out. Summer is for staying in, turning the AC all the way up, and finally getting through that watchlist you've been adding to all year. Between the heat and long summer evenings, there's no better time to settle in with your next binge-watch. Whether you're in the mood for a blockbuster everyone's talking about, a K-drama that keeps you up past midnight, or a documentary that's guaranteed to get people talking, here are six titles worth making time for this summer.
BLOCKBUSTER MOVIES
The biggest films of the year, ready for your next movie night.
20th Century Studios' Avatar: Fire and Ash
James Cameron returns to Pandora with the third instalment in the Avatar franchise, as Jake and Neytiri face their greatest challenge yet in the form of the Ash People, a Na'vi clan driven by loss and vengeance. Expanding the world of Pandora in breathtaking new ways, Fire and Ash is visually spectacular, emotionally powerful and packed with epic action, making it one of this year's biggest blockbuster releases.
20th Century Studios' Send Help
From director Sam Raimi comes a darkly comedic thriller that is equal parts tense and wildly entertaining. When a plane crash leaves two feuding colleagues stranded on a deserted island as the only survivors, what starts as a fight for survival quickly turns into something far more psychological. Rachel McAdams and Dylan O'Brien are electric together, the kind of on-screen chemistry that makes every scene impossible to look away from. Think you know where it's going? You don't.
KOREAN DRAMAS
Addictive stories packed with twists, romance and edge-of-your-seat moments.
A Shop for Killers Season 2
Named one of The New York Times' Best TV Shows of 2024, A Shop for Killers returns with an action-packed second season that raises the stakes even further. Jian and her uncle Jin-man take the fight directly to Babylon, a mercenary organisation that doesn't lose, delivering even more high-octane action, suspense and unexpected twists. With season two premiering on Disney+ on July 22, now is the perfect time to catch up on the gripping first season before Jian and Jin-man’s story continues.
The Husband
Namkoong Min leads this gripping romantic thriller as Kang Tae-joo, a neurosurgeon-turned-hospital director whose world is turned upside down when a ruthless criminal kidnaps his wife. What unfolds is a tense, emotional, and completely absorbing story that balances heart and suspense in equal measure. It’s the kind of K-drama that reminds you exactly why the genre has taken the region by storm.
DOCUMENTARIES
From legendary players to unforgettable tournaments, these are stories every football fan should watch.
Last Train to North America: Season 1
Football is about more than just what happens on the pitch, and Last Train to North America proves exactly that. Blending sport with culture and travel, the series explores the host nations one of the biggest football tournaments, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the people, places and stories shaping the world's biggest sporting event.
