Egypt Post Pension Beneficiaries Reach 5.3 Million in April 2026, Marking a 3.9% Annual Increase
The number of pensions disbursed through Egypt Post increased by 3.92% on an annual basis, recording approximately 5.3 million beneficiaries by the end of April 2026, compared to 5.1 million beneficiaries in April 2025, according to data released by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.
However, on a monthly basis, the number of pensions disbursed through the post office experienced a slight decline of 0.56%, down from 5.33 million beneficiaries in March 2026.
Number of Post Offices
The data revealed that the total number of post offices across Egypt stood at 4,656 by the end of April 2026, compared to 4,714 offices in April 2025, reflecting an annual decrease of 1.03%. Conversely, there was a marginal monthly increase of 0.11%, up from 4,651 offices in March 2026.
Furthermore, the average number of citizens served by a single post office rose to about 24,000 people by the end of April 2026, compared to 23,310 people in April 2025. This marks an annual growth rate of 2.96% and a limited monthly growth of 0.03%, compared to approximately 23,990 people in March 2026.
Meanwhile, the volume of instant domestic postal money orders reached around 420,000 transactions by the end of April 2026, compared to 364,000 transactions in April 2025, achieving a robust annual growth of 15.33%. However, on a monthly basis, the volume dropped by 8.92%, compared to approximately 461,000 transactions in March 2026
