CBE Announces Banking Holiday Next Thursday for Islamic New Year
The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) has officially announced that all banks operating in the Egyptian market will suspend operations next Thursday, June 18, 2026, in observance of the Islamic New Year (Hijri 1448).
According to the CBE's statement, banking operations are scheduled to resume on the morning of Sunday, June 21, 2026, following the official and regular working hours.
