CBUAE and CBB Governors Meet in Abu Dhabi to Consolidate Strategic Financial Cooperation

Abu Dhabi H.E. Khaled Mohamed Balama, Governor of the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE), received H.E. Khalid Ebrahim Humaidan, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB), at the CBUAE headquarters in Abu Dhabi. During the meeting, the two sides explored avenues to consolidate their strategic partnership and enhance cooperation frameworks within the financial and banking sectors.

The high-level discussions covered a spectrum of topics of mutual interest. These included developing coordination mechanisms, exchanging expertise, and bolstering the efficiency and stability of their respective banking systems. Furthermore, the meeting addressed ways to promote innovative initiatives in financial services, which will contribute to expanding the horizons of economic, trade, and investment cooperation between the two nations, ultimately supporting sustainable growth and shared developmental aspirations.

As part of the visit, the CBB Governor and his accompanying delegation toured various sectors and departments of the CBUAE. They were briefed on the latest initiatives, programs, and developmental projects concerning financial infrastructure and digital transformation in the financial sector. The delegation also reviewed the CBUAE’s adopted best practices in reinforcing financial stability and fostering innovation in financial services.

The meeting was attended by Assistant Governors of the CBUAE and several senior officials from both sides.

Commenting on the visit, H.E. Khaled Mohamed Balama stated: “This meeting embodies the depth and robustness of the deep-rooted relations between the leadership and people of the UAE and the Kingdom of Bahrain. It reflects a mutual keenness to elevate bilateral ties and deepen strategic cooperation toward new horizons that contribute to the comprehensive development of both brotherly nations. It also serves as a vital starting point for advancing monetary and financial coordination with our partners in Bahrain, thereby supporting stability and driving trade and investment exchange.”

On his part, H.E. Khalid Ebrahim Humaidan emphasized that the visit falls within the framework of the profound and enduring brotherly relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the UAE. He noted that it illustrates the shared commitment of both nations to strengthen bilateral ties and further consolidate joint action for mutual growth and prosperity. His Excellency also expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation for the warm reception and generous hospitality extended to him by the UAE.
