IREP Announces CEO Succession Plan as Kamran Abbas Takes Leadership Role

International Real Estate Partners (IREP), the global real estate and facilities management operating partner, has announced a planned leadership transition that will see Kamran Abbas appointed as Chief Executive Officer, while longtime CEO Kenneth McCrae assumes the role of Executive Chairman.

The company said the move follows a structured succession process aimed at ensuring leadership continuity and supporting the next phase of international growth across IREP’s expanding operations.

Kamran Abbas, previously serving as Chief Financial Officer, will now oversee the company’s strategic direction, executive management, client relationships, and international expansion initiatives across its core business segments.

Meanwhile, Kenneth McCrae will continue to play a strategic role within the company as Executive Chairman, focusing on long-term vision, governance, and key client partnerships.

“Kamran’s appointment follows a deliberate and well-planned succession process,” said Kenneth McCrae, Executive Chairman of IREP. “He combines financial discipline, operational understanding, and strategic clarity with a strong commitment to our clients and our people.”

McCrae also highlighted the recent appointment of Peter Doran as Group Chief Operating Officer, describing it as part of the company’s efforts to strengthen its executive structure and operational platform.

During his tenure as CFO, Abbas played a key role in strengthening the company’s financial performance, improving operational execution, and supporting expansion across the Middle East, India, the United Kingdom, Europe, and North America.

“I am honoured to lead IREP as we enter the next stage of our development,” Abbas said. “Our priorities are clear: to continue delivering exceptional outcomes for our clients, strengthen our capabilities across every market we serve, and build a disciplined, scalable platform for growth.”

The company also emphasized that the addition of Peter Doran as Group COO further strengthens operational alignment across its international markets. Doran will focus on enhancing regional delivery models and ensuring service consistency across the company’s growing portfolio.

“From an operational perspective, this is a well-planned and well-supported leadership succession,” Doran said. “Our focus is on ensuring continuity for our clients, clarity for our teams, and disciplined execution across every part of the business.”

IREP stated that the succession plan reflects confidence in its executive leadership, international growth strategy, and ability to continue delivering integrated real estate and facilities management solutions to institutional clients, corporations, and investors worldwide.

International Real Estate Partners operates across multiple global markets, providing integrated facilities management, property and asset management, ESG and sustainability advisory, energy management services, technology and data solutions, procurement and compliance services, as well as development and managed business services.
