e& Egypt Deploys Specialized Hajj Roaming Architecture; Launches 80GB Data Pipeline via Cairo Airport Kiosks

e& Egypt, a leading telecom and information technology conglomerate, has officially launched an exclusive high-capacity roaming package tailored for the Hajj pilgrimage season. The strategic commercial rollout forms part of the carrier’s commitment to engineering integrated, scenario-specific digital connectivity solutions, ensuring that Egyptian pilgrims maintain reliable network access and seamless data transmission across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

To eliminate international onboarding friction and optimize customer care operations prior to departure, e& Egypt has expanded its physical infrastructure at Cairo International Airport. The telecom operator has deployed three dedicated, full-service transactional kiosks inside the main departure terminals. These specialized retail nodes are staffed to deliver direct passenger technical support, accelerate SIM card activations, and execute real-time diagnostic checks on international roaming configurations before travelers board their flights to KSA.

80GB Bandwidth and Voice Tranches

The newly structured Hajj roaming package offers a substantial data allocation of 80 gigabytes (GB) of high-speed internet bandwidth, bundled alongside 200 minutes of voice calls valid for cross-border routing within Saudi Arabia. This network allocation is designed to hand consumers a plug-and-play communication framework, completely removing the necessity for secondary SIM procurement or technical configurations upon arriving at Saudi ports.

Hossam El-Meadawy, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at e& Egypt, stated that the operator focuses on building an integrated ecosystem of digital utilities that guarantee reliability and network resilience during peak seasonal spikes. "The Hajj season represents a high-traffic fiscal window that demands extreme operational readiness and a robust core infrastructure. Our systems are fully optimized to allow clients to remain continuously connected with total security while performing their rituals across the Kingdom," El-Meadawy added.

The holiday deployment aligns with e& Egypt’s broader corporate transition into a comprehensive digital services platform. By multiplying its point-of-sale support vectors and upgrading cross-border data ceilings, the telecom utility positions itself to protect its subscriber base from short-term network churn, securing recurring roaming revenues through the mid-2026 travel cycle.
