Egypt’s Ministry of Communications Drives Digital Shift at Inaugural Civil Society Forum

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) took a center-stage role at the first Egyptian Civil Society Forum, an initiative launched to integrate digital solutions into the nation's developmental landscape. Organized by the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development and CARE Egypt under the auspices of the Ministry of Social Solidarity, the forum convened key stakeholders, including the National Alliance for Civil Development Work. A primary focus of the discussions was the digital readiness of NGOs, aiming to modernize an industry that serves over 20 million citizens.

During the panel sessions, MCIT representatives emphasized the ministry’s commitment to building digital capacities within non-governmental organizations. The discussions centered on enhancing the "Digital Inclusion" of civil society by providing training programs for staff and developing technical frameworks that support sustainable operations. By fostering a data-driven approach to social work, the ministry aims to elevate the efficiency of service delivery and ensure that Egypt's civil society remains resilient and adaptive in an increasingly digitized global economy.
