Central Bank of Egypt Announces Banking Holiday for Easter and Sham El-Nessim 2026
The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) has officially announced a suspension of operations across all banks operating in the country in observance of Easter and Sham El-Nessim. Banks will be closed starting Sunday, April 12, through Monday, April 13, 2026.
According to the CBE statement, the banking sector is scheduled to resume regular operations on Tuesday morning, April 14, 2026. While physical branches will be closed, digital banking channels, mobile applications, and the national network of ATMs will remain fully operational to ensure uninterrupted financial services for the public during the holiday period.
