Egyptian Autism Society Launches Global 2026 Autism Awareness Campaign Uniting 20+ Organizations Worldwide

Egyptian Autism Society has announced the launch of its 2026 autism awareness campaign, which has evolved this year into an unprecedented global initiative bringing together more than 20 organizations, institutions, and experts from across the world under a unified message promoting awareness, acceptance, and family support for individuals with autism.

For the first time, partners from Africa, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and Central Asia are participating in a coordinated global campaign, sharing unified awareness content across social media platforms while organizing synchronized events and activities throughout the campaign period.

The initiative is being launched globally under the hashtags #GotYourBack and #في_ضهرك, marking one of the first collaborative international awareness efforts of its kind since the Light It Up Blue initiative.

Siblings at the Heart of the Campaign
This year’s campaign places a spotlight on siblings of individuals with autism, highlighting their vital role as lifelong companions, primary supporters, and often silent advocates within families and communities.

The campaign carries the message “Got Your Back – في ضهرك,” symbolizing mutual support and the deep human bonds between siblings.

Grand Egyptian Museum Joins the Initiative
As part of the campaign’s activities in Egypt, the Grand Egyptian Museum will participate in the global Light It Up Blue initiative on April 2, marking World Autism Awareness Day.

Following its recent opening, the iconic landmark will be illuminated in blue to express solidarity with individuals with autism and their families, and to support broader awareness efforts.

Throughout April, the museum will also host a special art exhibition featuring chairs designed by individuals with autism, showcasing their creativity and talents while encouraging greater societal appreciation of their contributions.

Leadership and Global Collaboration
The initiative is led by Dalia Soliman, representative of the Egyptian Autism Society, who has been championing autism awareness in Egypt for over 15 years. She was recently appointed to a United Nations autism advocacy alliance in recognition of her contributions to advancing global awareness and inclusion.

The campaign brings together leading international organizations and experts, including Autism Speaks, Global Autism Project, Florida Institute of Technology, the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation, and the Autism Research Centre at University of Cambridge led by Simon Baron-Cohen.

Participants span multiple countries including Egypt, the United States, Bahrain, Ethiopia, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Cameroon, Guinea, and the United Arab Emirates.

Through this global collaboration, the Egyptian Autism Society aims to foster international dialogue on autism and promote a culture of understanding, acceptance, and support for individuals with autism and their families worldwide.
