HUAWEI Watch GT 6 Pro Empowers Users to Monitor Diabetes Risk
HUAWEI continues to advance the role of wearable technology in supporting healthier lifestyles with the Watch GT 6 Pro, featuring a new diabetes risk analysis tool. The feature monitors physiological signals using non-invasive PPG technology to detect potential fluctuations in blood sugar levels.
Users are asked to wear the watch consistently for 3 to 14 days, after which the Diabetes Risk app evaluates the data and classifies the user’s risk as Low, Medium, or High. Those in the Medium and High categories are advised to seek professional medical consultation.
With this innovation, HUAWEI aims to raise awareness about diabetes risks, promote early intervention, and empower users to make informed lifestyle choices. In addition to diabetes monitoring, the smartwatch offers continuous heart rate tracking, sleep analysis, stress management, and fitness monitoring, providing a complete overview of personal health.
According to the 2024 International Diabetes Federation (IDF) report, around 589 million adults worldwide have diabetes, with 43% undiagnosed. In the MENA region alone, 85 million adults are affected, a figure projected to rise by 92% by 2050. The UAE currently has a diabetes prevalence of 20.7% among adults.
The diabetes risk feature is available now via an OTA update on the Watch GT 6 Pro and will expand to other HUAWEI smartwatch models in the near future.
