Huawei Returns to Performance Wearables with WATCH GT Runner 2 at “Now is Your Run” Event
At its “Now is Your Run” global launch event in Madrid, Huawei introduced a new generation of smart devices, headlined by the HUAWEI WATCH GT Runner 2 — signaling the company’s renewed focus on professional-grade running technology.
The event lineup included the HUAWEI Mate 80 Pro, HUAWEI MatePad Mini, HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro 5, HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate 2, and the HUAWEI Band 11 Series. The company also named Olympic marathon legend Eliud Kipchoge as its global ambassador to champion running and technology-driven wellness.
The WATCH GT Runner 2 integrates a 3D floating antenna system to deliver enhanced GPS precision, supported by intelligent tracking algorithms capable of maintaining performance data during signal disruptions. Its dedicated marathon mode provides adaptive coaching, targeting both elite and recreational runners. Kipchoge emphasized his collaboration in shaping the product to meet real-world athletic demands.
On the smartphone front, the Mate 80 Pro features a refined True-to-Color Camera system, a distinctive Dual Space Ring Design, second-generation Kunlun Glass for improved resilience, and upgraded AI-driven performance enhancements.
Huawei’s wearable expansion includes the WATCH Ultimate 2 with advanced outdoor and golf functionalities, while the Band 11 Series delivers expanded health metrics and an enlarged display within a lightweight design.
The MatePad Mini introduces an 8.8-inch compact tablet engineered for mobility and daily productivity, whereas the FreeBuds Pro 5 stands out with dual-engine AI noise cancellation and a dual-driver sound system for premium audio clarity.
The event aligns with Huawei’s broader brand vision, “Now is Yours,” underscoring its strategy to deepen global consumer engagement and promote active lifestyles through innovation.
