Egypt’s NTRA Hosts Cybersecurity Awareness Seminars to Strengthen Digital Safety
The National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA), through its Cybersecurity Industry Development Sector, participated in a series of awareness seminars aimed at educating attendees on data protection and cyber threat mitigation.
Organized in collaboration with the Market Governance Sector, Regulatory Affairs Sector, and the Egyptian Competition Authority, the events were held over two days at the Competition Authority headquarters. The seminars are part of the implementation of Egypt’s National Cybersecurity Strategy (2023–2027), reflecting national efforts to enhance institutional readiness against digital threats and build a safer, more sustainable digital environment.
During the seminars, Major General Dr. Mohamed El-Hamami, Senior Expert at NTRA, delivered a lecture covering key cybersecurity concepts, emerging challenges in the digital space, and the role of artificial intelligence in protecting data and combating cyber threats. Best practices for fostering a cybersecurity culture in the workplace were also discussed.
Topics included anticipated cyber threats, personal and sensitive data protection, and strategies to counter cyber risks, particularly amid rapid advancements in information and communication technologies. NTRA emphasized that these seminars are part of ongoing efforts to promote cybersecurity awareness, ensure safe technology usage, and enhance the capacity of organizations and individuals to safeguard their data.
