Egypt Participates in ‘Harnessing AI for Economic Growth’ Event Ahead of India AI Impact Summit 2026
Egypt, represented by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), took part in an event titled “Harnessing AI for Economic Growth,” organized by the Embassy of India in Cairo on December 23. The event was held as part of ongoing efforts to promote the India AI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled to take place in February 2026.
The event served as a strategic introduction to the upcoming Summit and brought together MCIT officials, representatives of partner organizations, and key stakeholders in the artificial intelligence ecosystem, including participants from the private sector, academia, and the media.
The agenda featured three panel discussions. The first focused on “Democratizing AI Resources,” highlighting the importance of equitable access to AI tools and infrastructure. The second panel explored the India–Egypt strategic partnership and its role in shaping regional and global AI narratives, while the third, titled “Building AI Capacities for a Resilient Future,” examined pathways for strengthening skills, institutions, and digital resilience.
Discussions underscored the broad opportunities for enhanced cooperation between Egypt and India to support citizens, businesses, and public-sector stakeholders. Panelists emphasized the need to advance innovation while respecting citizens’ aspirations with dignity, alongside promoting greater decentralization of future digital infrastructure.
Egypt’s participation in the event reflects its growing and influential role within the global AI ecosystem, particularly as Egypt serves as a co-chair of the “Democratizing AI Resources” Working Group, alongside India and Kenya.
Egypt is widely recognized as one of the leading and most advanced forces in artificial intelligence across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). In parallel, India continues to play a significant role in shaping the global AI landscape through the contributions of thousands of companies, researchers, and innovators.
The India AI Impact Summit 2026 is positioned as a defining global milestone, signaling a shift from dialogue to tangible impact. Anchored in the principles of People, Planet, and Progress, the Summit envisions a future in which artificial intelligence advances humanity, supports sustainable development, and drives inclusive economic growth.
