Upwyde Appoints Moharram Bakhoum and Okoplan to Oversee Construction of Gazbeya Project
Upwyde Real Estate Development Company has announced a strategic partnership with Moharram Bakhoum Engineering Consultants, one of Egypt’s largest and most established engineering firms, and Okoplan Landscape, a leading landscape design company, to supervise construction works on its flagship “Gazbeya” project in 6th of October City.
The agreement reflects Upwyde’s commitment to engaging top-tier engineering and design expertise to ensure the highest standards of execution and technical supervision across its developments.
Engineer Haitham Hassanin, Founder and Board Member of Upwyde, said that attracting leading engineering consultants in Egypt is part of the company’s comprehensive vision to deliver projects in line with the highest quality benchmarks. He added that Upwyde is set to announce major new contracts for other projects in the near future as part of this strategy.
In his capacity as General Supervisor of Project Management, Hassanin noted that construction activities across the company’s sites are progressing at a strong pace. Excavation works at the Gazbeya project have exceeded 85 percent completion, enabling a rapid transition to advanced construction phases. He also confirmed a strong and accelerated start to the execution of the project’s concrete structures.
Commenting on the collaboration, Tarek Sobhy, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Okoplan Landscape, expressed his enthusiasm for working on the Gazbeya project. He highlighted the project’s central hill, which is set to be transformed into a distinctive artistic landmark featuring integrated green spaces and water elements, offering panoramic views for residential units and adding to the project’s unique identity.
Meanwhile, Mahmoud Tamam, Founder and Managing Director of Upwyde, revealed that the company plans to invest EGP 6 billion in construction across its East and West Cairo projects by 2026, including EGP 1.5 billion allocated specifically to the Gazbeya development. He emphasized that 2026 will mark a year of accelerated and continuous construction across all Upwyde projects, reiterating the company’s commitment to delivering on its promises to clients in terms of quality, delivery timelines, and service efficiency.
Fadel Samir, Co-CEO of the Commercial Sector at Upwyde, said the company is focused on achieving a balance between quality and speed, a strategy demonstrated by the delivery of the “GRANOY” project in East Cairo to the highest quality standards. He added that this approach is part of a structured plan to deliver the remaining projects according to agreed schedules, supported by the recruitment of highly qualified talent and an expansion strategy across East and West Cairo through 2026.
The Gazbeya project enjoys a prime location directly on the 26th of July Corridor in 6th of October City, just four minutes from Mall of Arabia, the Shooting Club, and Dar Al Fouad Hospital. Designed by renowned architect Raef Fahmy, the project features operational spaces catering to diverse segments, with its iconic hill set to remain a landmark for both 6th of October City and Sheikh Zayed City for years to come.
