Turkish Airlines and Air Algérie Sign MoU to Expand Strategic Partnership and Codeshare Agreement

Turkish Airlines, the national flag carrier of Türkiye, and Air Algérie, the flag carrier of Algeria, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to deepen their strategic partnership and broaden the scope of their existing codeshare agreement.

The MoU was signed at Air Algérie’s headquarters in Algiers by Bilal Ekşi, CEO of Turkish Airlines, and Hamza Benhamouda, CEO of Air Algérie, in the presence of senior executives from both airlines.

Under the new framework, the two carriers will expand their codeshare cooperation to offer passengers enhanced connectivity between Türkiye and Algeria and beyond. The partnership will also explore new avenues of collaboration across several areas, including cargo interline services, aircraft leasing, catering, lounge access, maintenance, and ground handling operations.

In addition, both airlines plan to work together on environmental projects, sustainability initiatives, and specialized training programs — reinforcing their shared commitment to innovation and responsible growth. The partnership is expected to boost business opportunities while promoting stronger cultural and economic exchange between the two nations.

Commenting on the agreement, Turkish Airlines CEO Bilal Ekşi said:

> “Our ongoing partnership with Air Algérie reflects our commitment to long-term, sustainable collaboration. This agreement marks an important step in deepening ties between our two airlines. As the airline flying to more countries than any other, we remain dedicated to expanding cooperation across multiple areas to deliver greater benefits and travel options to our guests. We are confident this partnership will enhance cultural and economic connections between Türkiye and Algeria and drive mutual growth.”

Air Algérie CEO Hamza Benhamouda added:

> “We are honored to welcome the Turkish Airlines delegation to our headquarters in Algiers as we strengthen the ties between our two airlines and countries. This milestone in our strategic partnership represents a comprehensive agreement covering multiple areas of cooperation and knowledge exchange. It will undoubtedly bring mutual benefits to both our companies and to our passengers.”
