Raya Holding and GIZ Complete Final Round of Startup Program in Egypt

Tuesday 24 June 2025 14:55

Raya Holding for Financial Investments has wrapped up the third and final cycle of its Raya FutureTECH accelerator, in collaboration with the German development agency GIZ under the DevelopPPP program. The initiative aims to strengthen Egypt’s innovation ecosystem by supporting growth-stage startups working in strategic sectors such as logistics, fintech, retail tech, clean energy, and smart mobility.

The latest cycle concluded with a flagship pitch night, where ten selected startups showcased disruptive solutions to a panel of industry leaders from Raya and GIZ. Startups also benefited from direct mentorship by Raya executives, proof-of-concept development, and commercial collaboration opportunities.

> Ahmed Khalil, CEO of Raya Holding, emphasized:
“Supporting innovation is not just part of our investment philosophy—it’s a strategic imperative. We are committed to building bridges between visionary founders and real market opportunities.”

Participating startups include EV powertrain innovator EVRaid, AI-based support platform Nanovate, smart mobility enabler For Wheelz, cross-border payments firm Card-Y, and others tackling key national priorities in sustainability, infrastructure, and financial inclusion.

The accelerator—launched in 2020 by Raya Contact Center (RCX)—has supported over 30 startups across three cycles, and joined the Global Accelerator Network (GAN) in 2021 to connect Egyptian founders with global resources and expertise.

While the current partnership with GIZ has come to an end, Raya confirmed that FutureTECH will continue independently, with expanded focus on investment readiness and scale-up support.

> Sameh Hammad, Head of Project Implementation at GIZ Egypt, said:
“This collaboration has helped startups access the tools and networks needed to grow. It’s part of our broader mission to empower youth and advance digital innovation in Egypt’s private sector.”

Five standout startups from this cycle will now join a follow-on investment readiness program supported by Raya, offering business modeling, funding access, and tailored growth strategies.

With Egypt’s startup scene gaining regional momentum, Raya FutureTECH continues to position itself as a key enabler of scalable, impact-driven innovation.
