Gold Prices in Egypt Drop Again on Saturday, July 5, 2025 — Gold Pound Loses EGP 120

Gold prices in Egypt continued their downward trend for the second consecutive day, recording notable declines across various karats during Saturday's trading. The domestic market saw gold values fall to their lowest levels in recent weeks.
The decline is primarily attributed to the relative stability and slight retreat of the US dollar exchange rate, which stood at EGP 49.43 in official banks and exchange offices today.
According to the latest pricing updates from local gold retailers, the 21-karat gold — the most widely traded in Egypt — dropped by EGP 15 per gram, while 18-karat gold fell by EGP 13. The price of the gold pound (8 grams of 21k) plummeted by EGP 120 compared to Friday's levels.
