Egyptian Stock Market Opens Lower with Broad-Based Losses on Wednesday, June 18

The Egyptian Exchange opened Wednesday’s trading session with a collective decline across all major indices, extending losses from the previous session’s close.
The benchmark EGX 30 Index dropped by 1.19%, settling at 30,359 points. Meanwhile, the EGX 30 Capped Index slipped by 1.22% to reach 38,654 points, and the EGX 30 Total Return Index fell 1.31%, ending the early session at 13,614 points.
Mid- and small-cap stocks also faced downward pressure, as the EGX 70 Equal Weight Index declined 0.96% to 8,905 points, and the broader EGX 100 Equal Weight Index lost 1.07%, falling to 12,103 points.
The decline reflects continued investor caution amid market volatility, with selling pressure weighing on both blue-chip and secondary stocks in early trading.
