MCIT Unveils ‘Digilians Initiative’ to Prepare Youth for ICT Job Market

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has launched the Digilians Initiative, a fully-funded scholarship, aiming to make a significant impact on Egypt’s ICT sector by equipping youth with the skills they need, both in number and quality, to increase their employability and support their success across different work environments. This effort aligns with the Ministry’s broader goal of building Digital Egypt.

The initiative is part of MCIT’s ongoing efforts to promote a culture of digital innovation, enhance the global competitiveness of Egyptian talent, and create long-term partnerships with top international companies and universities to provide global exposure and develop youth expertise.

The program is implemented in cooperation with the Egyptian Military Academy and leading tech firms, including Google, Cisco, Huawei, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Fortinet, Valeo, Palo Alto, Oracle, Microsoft, Kaspersky, and IBM.

Digilians targets youth from 18 to 32 years of age from all academic backgrounds. It focuses on developing participants’ skills in ICT and their modern applications, alongside soft skills such as communication, leadership, and language proficiency to better meet market demands.

The initiative offers several tracks that applicants can choose from during registration. The first is Nanodegree, a four-month program that equips participants with practical skills and specialized knowledge in areas such as software development, AI and data science, data analysis, infrastructure and cybersecurity, applied technology, and digital arts.

The second track is the Specialized Diploma, which lasts for nine months and enables trainees to gain in-depth knowledge and advanced skills in specific technology areas, including AI and data science, applied AI and data analysis, AI-based software development, cybersecurity, networks and technological infrastructure, and embedded systems.

The third track is the Professional Master, lasting 12 months. It aims to provide professionals with advanced knowledge and skills in digital technology and innovation, enabling them to lead digital projects and make strategic decisions based on modern scientific and technical foundations. This program covers AI and data science, business analytics, AI-based software development, cybersecurity, and electronic systems.

The fourth track is the Master of Science, which lasts 24 months and targets researchers and specialists looking to deepen their scientific knowledge, conduct advanced studies, and contribute to the development of future technological solutions. The program provides participants with a strong scientific foundation that combines academic research and hands-on application in various fields of science and technology, with a focus on AI and data science.

Digilians also includes scientific, cultural, sports, and social activities that contribute to shaping well-rounded individuals and reinforcing a sense of belonging.

Trainees receive a wide range of benefits, including training bootcamps, fully covered accommodation, certificates, a Master’s degree from a reputable international university, and opportunities to participate in local and international tech competitions—with prizes awarded to top performers.
