• The live network trial demonstrates up to 14 percent radio spectrum efficiency improvement for 5G sites and up to 50 percent downlink throughput gains.

• This AI-native solution dynamically adjusts radio network resources to deliver more stable connections and a superior user experience under demanding conditions.

Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) and Vodafone Egypt have trialed Ericsson’s AI-native Scheduler for Link Adaptation, part of Ericsson’s AI in RAN software portfolio, to explore how artificial intelligence can enhance network performance and customer experience across Vodafone Egypt’s 5G network.

Enabling faster real-time radio decisions in Vodafone Egypt's RAN ensures reliable performance even in high-demand environments where radio conditions are not optimal. Customers experience smoother video streaming, more responsive gaming, and uninterrupted video calls even during peak usage. The solution optimizes the radio link parameters for 5G customers in high-interference areas, enhancing the throughput and enabling a better use of the existing 2600 MHz 5G spectrum. The live network trial demonstrated up to a 14 percent gain in radio spectrum efficiency.

Building on the ongoing network modernization partnership, this trial positions Vodafone Egypt among the first communication service providers worldwide to adopt Ericsson’s AI-native Scheduler for Link Adaptation, reinforcing its commitment to bringing advanced network innovation to the Egyptian telecommunications market and delivering a more reliable and consistent connectivity experience for its customers. The AI-native Scheduler for Link Adaptation is a shift from networks built to react, to networks built to learn and adjust in real time.

Vodafone Egypt spokesperson — Catalin Buliga, CTO, says: “We continue to adopt AI in our network to improve its efficiency and deliver a consistent and reliable experience for our customers. Adopting Ericsson’s AI-native Scheduler for Link Adaptation enables us to offer an improved 5G experience in challenging radio coverage environments.”

Ericsson spokesperson : “AI-native capabilities are helping shape the next evolution of radio access networks. Through this trial with Vodafone Egypt, we are demonstrating how intelligent, real-time adaptation can help optimize radio resources, enhance users’ experience, and improve spectral efficiency. This milestone reflects the value of combining Vodafone Egypt’s network ambitions with Ericsson’s AI RAN software capabilities to bring enhanced connectivity services to Vodafone Egypt’s subscribers.”

Vodafone Egypt’s is continuing to adopt AI for more efficient networks and better customer experience, laying the foundation for future-ready connectivity and evolving customer expectations.
