Orange Egypt is stepping up its efforts to develop data center infrastructure and computing services as artificial intelligence gains momentum across economic and service industries, according to Hesham Mehran, the company’s CEO and Managing Director.

Addressing the opening session of Cairo ICT 2026, Mehran said that unlocking the full potential of AI depends on two key factors: strong digital infrastructure and skilled professionals capable of translating emerging technologies into solutions with real-world applications.

Expanding Infrastructure to Meet Rising Demand

Mehran said Orange Egypt is continuing to enhance its data centers and computing services to serve the expanding requirements of businesses and government institutions. The company is also collaborating with international partners to provide secure, advanced technology solutions.

He highlighted the growing importance of Cairo ICT as AI adoption accelerates across different sectors, noting that investment in people and technical skills must progress alongside infrastructure development.

Empowering Young Innovators and Entrepreneurs

The Orange Egypt CEO also highlighted the company’s initiatives to encourage entrepreneurship and investment among young people, particularly through Orange Digital Centers.

These initiatives support individuals with innovative ideas in developing them into executable projects, while offering opportunities to test technology solutions in cooperation with customers.

Mehran emphasized that the ultimate objective is not simply to provide training or nurture ideas, but to bring innovation into practical use through applications that respond to market requirements and create economic value.

Cairo ICT Marks Three Decades of Technology Development

Reflecting on the exhibition’s 30th edition, Mehran described Cairo ICT as an important milestone in the evolution of the technology industry and a meeting point for companies, specialists and industry leaders from Egypt, the wider region and international markets.

He expressed appreciation to ministers and government officials for their continued support of the telecommunications and information technology sector, while welcoming exhibitors and visitors from across the region and the world.

Mehran concluded by underscoring the need for stronger partnerships between the government, private sector and technology companies to advance Egypt Vision 2030. He reaffirmed that Orange Egypt will continue contributing to the country’s digital transformation and the development of an economy driven by technology and innovation.
