Raya Information Technology and Diebold Nixdorf Expand Partnership into Retail Solutions

Raya Information Technology, a subsidiary of Raya Holding for Financial Investments, is expanding its strategic partnership with global technology provider Diebold Nixdorf to cover retail solutions alongside banking technology.

The expanded collaboration is being showcased at the 30th edition of Cairo ICT 2026 and its accompanying PAFIX exhibition, dedicated to digital payments, financial inclusion and digital banking.

The agreement introduces Diebold Nixdorf Retail Solutions to Raya’s portfolio, extending the scope of a partnership that has supported Egypt’s banking sector for more than 26 years.

A 26-Year Partnership Enters a New Market

Over the past 26 years, Raya and Diebold Nixdorf have worked together to support the development of Egypt’s banking sector through solutions that help financial institutions modernise operations, improve service efficiency and expand customer access.

The partnership combines Diebold Nixdorf’s international expertise with Raya’s local market experience and capabilities in integrated solutions, implementation, operations and technical support.

Banking Technology, AI-Powered ATMs and Security

At the exhibitions, the companies are presenting banking solutions focused on service automation, cash management and self-service channels. These technologies are designed to simplify routine transactions, reduce pressure on bank branches and offer customers more flexible services.

The portfolio also includes solutions for customer reception and card issuance, as well as expanding the range of transactions that can be completed without direct staff intervention.

At PAFIX, Raya is showcasing Diebold Nixdorf’s DN 300 and DN 350 ATM models. The machines offer high cash-storage capacity within a compact footprint, supporting operational efficiency and greater flexibility for banks.

The companies are also highlighting the AI-powered AllConnect Data Engine (ACDE), which enables proactive ATM monitoring. The technology is designed to improve machine availability and service continuity, while reducing faults and the need for on-site maintenance visits.

Security is another central component of the portfolio. Through its Vynamic Security programme, Diebold Nixdorf provides protection against physical, logical and cyber threats targeting ATMs, helping safeguard banking services and maintain customer confidence.

Retail Solutions Backed by Global Reach

The addition of Diebold Nixdorf Retail Solutions enables Raya to serve retailers seeking to respond to changing consumer behaviour, improve shopping experiences and enhance day-to-day operational efficiency.

Diebold Nixdorf’s retail business has an established international footprint. Its self-service solutions are deployed in more than 50 countries and used by over 150 retail companies. The company has also completed more than 1.2 million point-of-sale system installations worldwide, while its annual retail business revenue stands at approximately $1 billion.

The solutions on display include different purchasing and self-service options, as well as software platforms that connect store operations and support shopping experiences across multiple channels.

AI-powered applications are also designed to improve payment processes, identify products, facilitate selected verification procedures and reduce losses during self-checkout transactions.

Beyond faster payments, these technologies can help retailers reduce waiting times, ease repetitive workloads for employees, improve store management and make better use of available resources, while maintaining operational oversight and protecting revenue.

Raya Targets Broader Sector Presence

Marwa Abbas, CEO of Raya Information Technology, said the partnership with Diebold Nixdorf had evolved over 26 years alongside the changing needs of Egypt’s banking sector.

She said the addition of retail solutions marks a new phase in the relationship and creates opportunities to deliver greater value across different industries through technologies that improve customer experiences, operational efficiency and resource utilisation.

Abbas added that Cairo ICT and PAFIX provide an opportunity to present a broader range of solutions and engage with banks and retailers to understand their priorities and challenges. She stressed the importance of matching technology offerings with actual customer needs and supporting them with Raya’s local implementation, operations and support capabilities.

According to the company, Raya holds more than 60% of the market share of ATMs operating in Egypt. The expanded partnership is expected to support its presence in additional sectors.

The 30th edition of Cairo ICT 2026 will take place from November 7 to 10 at the Egypt International Exhibition Center in New Cairo under the theme “AI in Action,” alongside the 13th edition of PAFIX, which focuses on banking technology, digital payments and financial services.
