Huawei Honours Digital Egypt Generations for Its Role in Building Egypt’s ICT Workforce
The Digital Egypt Generations initiative has received recognition from Huawei as one of the company’s leading government partners, highlighting their cooperation in developing Egypt’s digital workforce.
The recognition was presented during Huawei’s seventh ICT Recruitment Expo, HiRE 7, held on October 26 at the Grand Egyptian Museum. The event was organised under the auspices of Egypt’s Ministries of Communications and Information Technology, Labor, and Higher Education and Scientific Research.
DEG Covers Four Digital Education and Training Initiatives
Digital Egypt Generations serves as an umbrella initiative for four programmes introduced by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to develop digital capabilities across different age groups.
Its programmes include:
- Digital Egypt Marvels Initiative (DEMI).
- Digital Egypt Cubs Initiative (DECI).
- Digital Egypt Pioneers Initiative (DEPI).
- Digital Egypt Builders Initiative (DEBI).
Together, they provide learning and training pathways for participants ranging from primary school pupils to university graduates, with the broader objective of preparing skilled professionals and future leaders for Egypt’s digital future.
Partnership Targets Skills Aligned with Market Demand
Huawei’s recognition reflects the joint efforts of the company and DEG to strengthen local talent and support the development of Egypt’s ICT sector.
The partnership also highlights the importance of linking digital education and professional training to actual labour market needs. Cooperation between public institutions and technology companies can help young people acquire advanced capabilities required to participate in the rapidly changing digital economy.
HiRE 7 Highlights Recruitment and Training Opportunities
The seventh edition of HiRE attracted around 120 companies and employers, as well as senior government representatives and technology-sector professionals.
Alongside its recruitment activities, the event showcased success stories from graduates of the Huawei ICT Academy and presented scholarship programmes and training opportunities made available through Huawei’s partners.
The event provided a platform for connecting emerging talent with employers and highlighting pathways for professional development in the ICT industry.
