Raya Holding Launches “Raya Ventures” and Secures First Investment in UK AI Firm “Pidima”

Raya Holding for Financial Investments has officially announced the launch of Raya Ventures, its specialized corporate venture capital (CVC) arm. The announcement coincides with the execution of its inaugural investment deal—acquiring a stake in Pidima, a UK-based company specializing in enterprise artificial intelligence software. The move aims to foster innovation, support promising tech startups, and drive long-term sustainable value.

This step aligns with Raya Holding’s strategy to expand its technology investments by supporting startups offering innovative solutions to market needs, while leveraging the group’s sectoral expertise, diverse operational ecosystem, and regional network to accelerate growth.

Raya Ventures’ Strategy and Geographic Focus

Established in 2025 as the CVC arm of Raya Holding, Raya Ventures focuses on investing in early-stage startups, particularly within the Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Financial Technology (FinTech) sectors. The targeted investment stages range from Pre-Seed up to Series A, providing foundational backing for high-potential tech ventures.

Raya Ventures operates with an investment strategy anchored in the Egyptian market while actively seeking opportunities across the Middle East and Africa (MEA). Additionally, it targets international startups developing technologies that can be deployed to serve regional market demands.

Independent Investment Entity with Strategic Support

Operating as an independent legal entity with a dedicated investment mandate, Raya Ventures goes beyond capital injection. It offers strategic mentorship and connects founders with Raya Holding’s extensive domain expertise.

This ecosystem enables portfolio companies to tap into the group’s regional network, gain strategic guidance, and explore commercial partnership opportunities, thereby strengthening their business models and scaling capabilities.

First Investment: Pidima’s Tech Solutions

The investment in UK-based Pidima (founded in 2024) marks Raya Ventures’ first operational deal. Pidima specializes in enterprise AI software designed to manage complex workflows and product lifecycle management through two core platforms:

Workflow Platform: Orchestrates and manages operational processes via AI-driven workflows. It streamlines tasks, approvals, and cross-departmental procedures while seamlessly integrating with existing enterprise systems to boost operational efficiency.

Lifecycle Platform: Unifies all elements of complex product development into a single framework—from requirements, design, and architecture to source code, testing, and compliance. This enables faster product development cycles and precise tracking of design changes across all components.

Executive Leadership Vision & Regional Expansion

Nanice El-Eseily, Chief Investment Officer at Raya Holding, stated that the group’s investment philosophy centers on capturing promising opportunities, building businesses, and delivering long-term value. She noted that launching Raya Ventures is a natural extension of this approach, allowing the group to engage early with startups and empower the next generation of entrepreneurs.

El-Eseily added that Raya Ventures aims to connect founders with specialized expertise and commercial avenues, emphasizing that Pidima’s AI solutions have strong potential to transform complex enterprise operations across the region.

From his side, John Marcus, Founder and CEO of Pidima, highlighted that both entities share a vision of converting AI into measurable value within enterprises rather than keeping it confined to pilot projects. He noted that collaborating with Raya Holding positions Pidima to become a trusted AI platform for enterprises across Egypt and the broader Middle East.
