Sahl Partners With Egypt’s Water Utility to Digitize Bill Collection

New Partnership Targets Easier Water Bill Payments

Delta Misr Payments, Sahl, is expanding its role in digital collections after signing an MoU with the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater.

The partnership will introduce additional electronic channels for customers to pay drinking water bills and recharge prepaid meter cards, supporting a wider shift toward digital payment services across essential utilities.

Customers Gain Additional Payment Options

The agreement will allow users to access water payment and prepaid-meter recharge services through Sahl’s applications and electronic channels.

The holding company and its affiliated water utilities will also enable customers to pay through bank cards via their websites and digital applications, giving users more flexibility while reducing reliance on conventional payment methods.

Digital Collections to Reduce Cash Dependence

The partnership comes as Egypt continues to expand electronic payment adoption across public and essential services.

By shifting more water-bill transactions to digital channels, the two sides aim to reduce cash-based payments, simplify collection procedures and improve the management of incoming payments. The initiative is also intended to strengthen financial monitoring and transparency.

Part of a Wider Digital Service Strategy

Ahmed Omran, Deputy Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities for Utilities, said the agreement is aligned with government efforts to expand digital transformation and provide customers with secure and diversified payment channels.

The two organizations will also work on informing customers about available digital payment methods through websites, mobile applications and other electronic channels.

Sahl Expands Its Digital Payments Footprint

The agreement further strengthens Sahl’s presence in electronic payment services for essential sectors.

For the water utility sector, the partnership supports efforts to digitize customer services, modernize collection processes and give consumers easier and more flexible ways to manage recurring payments and prepaid meter recharges.
