Amanleek and ZenHR Move Employee Health Insurance Into the HR Workflow

The Egyptian digital insurance brokerage has partnered with HR and payroll platform ZenHR to build a direct technology integration between the two systems, allowing changes in an employee’s status to trigger corresponding insurance processes without HR teams having to repeatedly transfer or re-enter the same information.

Under the planned integration, adding a new employee to ZenHR will initiate the process of activating their health insurance coverage, while an employee’s departure will trigger the procedures required to end or update that coverage, subject to the terms and procedures governing each insurance policy.

The partnership moves corporate health insurance closer to an embedded service within the systems companies already use to manage their workforce — rather than a separate administrative process handled alongside HR operations.

Insurance Follows the Employee Lifecycle

For HR departments, managing corporate health insurance often involves a continuous cycle of additions, removals and data updates as employees join or leave a company.

Amanleek and ZenHR are attempting to remove much of that manual layer.

The planned connection will use employee information already held within ZenHR as the basis for updating insurance status, reducing the need to enter the same information across separate systems.

That could reduce administrative work and data-entry errors while helping companies keep insured-member records aligned more closely with changes in their workforce.

“Health insurance is one of the most time-consuming areas for HR departments in Egypt, because every new hire and every departure requires manual follow-up with the insurance company,” said Yousef Shamoun, CEO of ZenHR.

“The integration with Amanleek makes employee data registered on ZenHR the starting point: insurance coverage begins when the employee joins and ends when they leave, without manual data entry. This saves companies time, reduces errors and gives employees protection from day one,” he added.

Amanleek Pushes Deeper Into Insurance Automation

The integration also reflects a broader shift in Amanleek’s business beyond digitizing the process of comparing and purchasing insurance policies.

Founded in 2019, the Egyptian InsurTech company provides digital insurance brokerage services spanning health and motor insurance, policy management and claims support.

It currently serves more than 500 Egyptian and multinational companies, works with 18 insurers and operates across 20 Egyptian governorates.

For Amanleek, connecting insurance directly with HR software means that technology can increasingly manage what happens after a corporate policy has been selected and issued — including the recurring changes required throughout an employee’s time at a company.

“Our partnership with ZenHR reflects our vision to automate the insurance ecosystem in Egypt,” said Mohab Abou Otta, Founder and CEO of Amanleek.

“By connecting the employee lifecycle with insurance coverage in real time, we are setting a new benchmark for the efficiency of corporate health insurance services,” he added.

From Digital Brokerage to Embedded Insurance

The partnership is particularly significant for Amanleek’s push into embedded insurance.

Rather than requiring companies to treat insurance as a standalone process, embedded models place insurance functions inside platforms and digital workflows businesses already use.

In this case, the point of integration is the HR system.

The approach means an HR platform can potentially become the trigger for insurance administration: a hiring decision creates an insurance requirement, while an employee’s departure generates the corresponding change in coverage.

Ehab El-Sokkary, Co-Founder of Amanleek, described the agreement as the first partnership of its kind in Egypt and said the technology link between the two platforms is intended to simplify insurance management for companies and HR professionals.

Amanleek and ZenHR have opened a waiting list for shared customers ahead of the integration’s launch. The partnership also includes customer referrals and joint marketing activities.

A Growing Insurance Market Creates Room for InsurTech

The partnership comes as Egypt’s insurance industry continues to expand, increasing the volume of policies, premiums and claims that insurers, brokers and corporate customers need to manage.

According to figures cited by Amanleek from Egypt’s Financial Regulatory Authority, insurance premiums reached approximately EGP 65.7 billion during the first half of 2026, up 15.7% from EGP 56.8 billion in the same period of 2025.

Insurance companies also paid around EGP 28.4 billion in claims during the first six months of 2026.

Growth in the underlying insurance market creates an opportunity for InsurTech companies not only to digitize policy sales but also to tackle the operational infrastructure surrounding insurance — from enrollment and policy administration to claims and ongoing coverage management.

Corporate health insurance is particularly suited to that model because employee records are constantly changing, creating a natural link between insurance platforms and HR technology.

ZenHR Expands Its Footprint in Egypt

The agreement also comes as ZenHR expands its presence in the Egyptian market.

The company recently opened its sixth regional office in Cairo and plans to invest more than EGP 150 million in Egypt over the next two years.

Founded in 2017, ZenHR serves more than 2,500 active companies across 11 countries in the Middle East and North Africa.

Its platform covers HR and payroll operations including employee lifecycle management, leave, performance and workforce data, with AI-powered capabilities integrated into its broader HR technology offering.

The Amanleek partnership adds insurance to that connected workflow.

For companies using both platforms, the significance is less about adding another HR feature and more about removing a boundary between two systems that have traditionally operated separately.

As HR, payroll and employee benefits become increasingly connected, corporate insurance could become another process that runs in the background — triggered by workforce data rather than managed through repeated manual intervention
