Egypt’s payroll technology market is moving toward a more connected model as dopay and ZenHR integrate their platforms to link the calculation of salaries directly with digital disbursement.

The partnership will allow companies using ZenHR to move from payroll preparation to salary payment through dopay within the same workflow, reducing the manual transfer of payroll data between HR, finance and payment systems.

The integration brings together ZenHR’s employee management and payroll capabilities with dopay’s digital salary payment infrastructure, creating a more automated payroll cycle that can serve employees whether or not they already have bank accounts.

From Payroll Calculation to Payment

For many businesses, payroll remains fragmented across multiple systems.

Employee information and salaries may be calculated through an HR platform before payment data is transferred separately to finance teams or banking and payment systems. That process can involve spreadsheets, files and repetitive manual tasks.

The dopay-ZenHR integration is designed to remove some of those steps.

Once payroll is prepared through ZenHR, companies will be able to initiate digital salary payments through dopay directly from the platform, reducing manual data movement and the potential for errors while shortening the process between payroll calculation and employees receiving their salaries.

The partnership is particularly relevant for companies managing different categories of workers, including employees who do not have traditional bank accounts.

dopay Wants to Connect With More HR Platforms

The ZenHR partnership is also the first step in a wider integration strategy for dopay.

The fintech company is building what it describes as an open ecosystem that connects its salary payment infrastructure with different HR and payroll systems through partnerships with local and regional providers.

The objective is to make digital salary disbursement part of the systems businesses already use rather than requiring HR and finance departments to manage payroll payment as a separate process.

“HR systems are where salaries are calculated, dopay is where they are paid,” said Ahmed Nassef, General Manager and Chief Operating Officer at dopay.

“Our integration with ZenHR is the first step in a clear direction: salaries should be able to move from any HR system to every employee, whether they have a bank account or not, without spreadsheets or manual files. This gives HR and finance teams more time to focus on their people rather than processes.”

More Than EGP 11 Billion in Salaries Processed

The integration comes as dopay expands the scale of its payroll payment business in Egypt.

Since launching its current platform in partnership with Bank ABC Egypt in 2022, dopay says it has processed more than EGP 11 billion in salary payments.

The company also says monthly payroll volumes processed through its platform have increased by around 2.5 times over the past year.

Alongside salary payments, dopay provides EarlyPay, known locally as “Eقبض بدري,” which allows employees to access part of their earned salary before the scheduled payday.

Together, these services position payroll as more than a monthly payment transaction, turning it into a potential entry point for digital financial services for workers who may otherwise remain outside conventional banking relationships.

ZenHR Expands Its Footprint in Egypt

For ZenHR, the partnership adds a payment layer to a platform that already manages HR and payroll operations.

The Riyadh-headquartered company has operated across the Egyptian and regional markets for around a decade and says it currently serves more than 2,500 active companies and organizations across 11 countries.

ZenHR is also integrating artificial intelligence into its HR and payroll platform as companies across the region increasingly automate administrative and workforce-management processes.

“As we expand in Egypt, we are committed to providing solutions that address the needs of local companies and support their ambitions,” said Yousef Shamoun, Founder and CEO of ZenHR.

“Our partnership with dopay allows us to connect HR management and payroll calculation with digital salary disbursement, helping our customers simplify the payroll cycle and provide a better experience for their teams and employees.”

Payroll Is Becoming an Integrated Digital Workflow

The significance of the partnership extends beyond making salary payments faster.

HR software, payroll calculation and financial infrastructure have traditionally operated as separate layers. Connecting them turns payroll into a continuous digital workflow: employee information enters the HR system, salaries are calculated and payment can then be initiated without rebuilding the same data in another environment.

For companies, that can reduce administrative work and errors. For employees, particularly those without conventional bank accounts, it can provide a more direct route into digital financial services.

And for dopay and ZenHR, the integration points toward a broader transformation in payroll technology: the monthly salary run is gradually moving from a collection of disconnected administrative tasks into a single digital process from calculation to payment.
