Foodics Summer Index 2026 Reveals North Coast F&B Expansion and Changing Consumer Trends
Foodics’ Summer Index 2026 shows Egypt’s North Coast F&B market expanding into new destinations, while established brands increase their presence and customers place larger orders.
Cairo, Egypt, October 19, 2026 — Foodics, a leading restaurant management and financial technology platform serving the food and beverage sector across the MENA region, has released its Summer Index 2026, highlighting key shifts in Egypt’s North Coast restaurant and café market during summer 2026 compared with the previous summer.
The index points to continued expansion across the North Coast, both in terms of the number of F&B outlets and the geographical areas attracting restaurant and café operators. Established brands are increasing their presence, while emerging destinations including Ras El Hekma, Dabaa and Fouka are witnessing stronger F&B activity.
Established Brands Increase North Coast Presence
According to Foodics’ data, brands that have operated on the North Coast for three consecutive years expanded their footprint by 54% over the past two years.
The pace of expansion reflects growing confidence among established operators in the long-term potential of the North Coast market. Rather than maintaining the same seasonal presence, these brands are reinvesting and opening additional outlets to capture rising demand.
F&B Expansion Moves Toward New Destinations
Growth is also spreading beyond the North Coast’s traditional hotspots. The number of F&B outlets in Fouka, Dabaa and Ras El Hekma increased by 34% as new residential communities, hotels and summer destinations continue to develop farther west.
Restaurants and cafés are increasingly following visitors into these emerging areas, while operators establishing locations early could benefit from future demand as development progresses.
Transactions and Order Sizes Rise
The increase in outlets was accompanied by higher customer activity. According to the Summer Index, transactions increased by 3.5%, rising from 7,319 to 7,568.
Customers also placed larger orders during their visits. The average number of items per order increased from two to three, indicating that dining and café visits are becoming a more significant part of the overall North Coast summer experience.
Coffee Tops Summer Sales
Coffee emerged as the leading product category during the summer, followed by pizza and burgers.
The findings highlight the continued importance of cafés and casual dining to the North Coast lifestyle. For restaurants and cafés, the combination of customers’ established preferences and larger orders could create opportunities to increase sales through complementary products, seasonal offerings and menu combinations.
F&B Growth Supports Northwestern Coast Development
The expansion of F&B activity across Ras El Hekma, Dabaa and Fouka comes alongside Egypt’s Northwestern Coast development strategy through 2030.
The government plan identifies these locations as priority development areas and includes investments in infrastructure and hotels, with the broader objective of transforming the Northwestern Coast into a year-round economic destination.
Alongside major developments such as New Alamein City and the Ras El Hekma development, Foodics’ data indicates that F&B operators are moving early into emerging zones as development and visitor activity continue to expand.
North Coast Market Enters a New Phase
The Summer Index 2026 suggests that Egypt’s North Coast F&B market is entering a new stage of growth, driven by the expansion of established brands, the emergence of new destinations and increasing customer order sizes.
For restaurants and cafés, identifying where consumer demand is shifting and understanding local preferences will be increasingly important when selecting expansion locations and building a sustainable presence beyond the traditional summer season.
