Amazon in Talks to Acquire AI Startup ”Decart” for Around $7 Billion
Amazon is in advanced talks to acquire the artificial intelligence startup Decart in a deal that could be valued at approximately $7 billion, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal citing people familiar with the matter.
Decart’s software provides strategic value by allowing developers to seamlessly switch between different types of AI chips—a critical capability as companies race to secure greater computing power. The deal could be finalized soon if negotiations proceed without interruption and no competing buyers emerge.
Decart has previously raised over $400 million in venture funding from prominent investors, including Sequoia Capital, Benchmark, and Radical Ventures, achieving a valuation of around $4 billion last May.
