CIB at Cairo ICT 2026: Digital Banking Expansion and Yomo Strengthen Its Innovation Strategy

Commercial International Bank Egypt (CIB) is participating in Cairo ICT 2026, highlighting its focus on digital banking, financial innovation, and technology-driven customer services. The bank continues to develop its digital channels and explore new ways to improve operational efficiency and expand access to financial services.

These efforts form part of CIB’s broader strategy to accelerate digital transformation, enhance customer experience, and strengthen its position in Egypt’s evolving banking sector.

Digital Transformation and Banking Services

CIB continues to invest in its digital platforms to make banking transactions more accessible and reduce the need for customers to visit branches. In April 2025, the bank introduced an upgraded internet banking platform offering a range of services, including account opening, bill payments, loan and credit card applications, certificate and deposit management, and investment fund transactions.

The platform reflects the bank’s focus on simplifying banking procedures and expanding the services available through digital channels.

According to CIB’s 2025 annual report, the number of internet banking users increased by 19% year-on-year through December 2025. The report also highlighted growth in the use of mobile banking transactions, underlining the growing role of digital channels in the bank’s customer service strategy.

Yomo Digital Bank: A New Step in Banking Innovation

In August 2026, CIB announced that it had received preliminary approval from the Central Bank of Egypt to establish Yomo Digital Bank, alongside plans to invest $300 million in the digital platform owned by Yomo Holding.

The project aims to introduce an independent digital banking operation in Egypt, offering services through digital channels and developing a banking experience designed around customers’ evolving needs.

The proposed initiative represents a significant step in CIB’s digital banking strategy. The transition to full operations remains subject to completing the necessary technical and operational preparations and obtaining the required regulatory approvals.

FinTech and Customer Experience

CIB’s technology strategy also focuses on using data analytics and digital solutions to improve banking processes and customer services. The bank continues to develop electronic service channels for individuals and businesses, aiming to make transactions more convenient and improve access to financial products.

Its digital initiatives also extend to corporate banking, where technology-based solutions can support payment processing, cash management, and the handling of business financial transactions.

Through these efforts, CIB seeks to strengthen the role of technology across its banking operations while responding to changing customer expectations.

Sustainable Finance and Financial Inclusion

Sustainable finance and financial inclusion remain important elements of CIB’s broader strategy. The bank’s published reports outline its approach to incorporating environmental, social, and governance considerations into its operations and supporting more sustainable economic activity.

CIB also works to broaden access to financial services for underserved groups, in line with wider efforts to expand financial inclusion across Egypt.

CIB at Cairo ICT 2026

Cairo ICT 2026, the exhibition’s 30th edition, is scheduled to take place from November 7 to 10, 2026. The event provides a platform for technology companies and financial institutions to showcase digital solutions and discuss emerging industry trends.

For CIB, digital banking, financial technology, and the development of Yomo Digital Bank are key areas of interest within its wider innovation strategy. The bank’s participation places its digital transformation efforts within the broader discussion of how technology is reshaping financial services in Egypt.

Through continued investment in digital platforms and new banking models, CIB is working to improve customer experience, expand digital service delivery, and respond to the changing needs of Egypt’s banking market.
