BAIC Egypt Launches New X-Line and Announces Plans for Local CKD Assembly
In a move supporting the shift toward advanced mobility solutions, BAIC Egypt—in partnership with EIM Group and Alkan Auto—officially launched its new X-Line series in the Egyptian market, featuring the X55e and X7e models. The launch event unveiled the official price of the X55e and outlined the company's future strategy for local CKD (Completely Knocked Down) assembly, transitioning the partnership toward full local manufacturing.
e-DRIVE Technology: Electric Performance Without the Need to Charge
The new technology relies 100% on the electric motor to drive the wheels, while the petrol engine functions solely as a generator to produce electricity without any direct mechanical connection to the wheels. Delivering over 200 hp and a driving range exceeding 1,000 km, this system offers drivers the smooth, quiet response of an EV alongside the convenience of conventional refueling.
BAIC X55e Specifications and Price in Egypt
Categorized as an SUV, the X55e features a front electric motor generating 217 hp and 310 Nm of torque, achieving a fuel efficiency of 5.13 L/100 km. The cabin is equipped with dual displays (10.25-inch and 12.3-inch), Apple CarPlay support, and a sunroof. Offered in a single Topline trim, the vehicle is officially priced at EGP 1,225,000.
