Egyptian Exchange Trading: Real Estate Leads as Banking Sector Records 6.6% Share

Trading activity on the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) was concentrated across several key sectors during the week, with real estate stocks recording the highest trading value among the main listed sectors, excluding deals.

Real Estate Stocks Dominate Weekly Trading

The real estate sector topped the ranking with a trading value of approximately EGP 5.661 billion, representing 15.5% of the total trading value of listed sectors.

Around 3.211 billion shares were traded across the sector through approximately 149.63 thousand transactions.

Non-Banking Financial Services Follow

The non-banking financial services sector secured the second position, generating approximately EGP 5.577 billion in trading value.

Its share reached 15.3% of total sector trading, while trading volume stood at nearly 1.444 billion shares, executed through around 99.274 thousand transactions.

Building Materials Secure Third Place

The building materials sector ranked third, with transactions totaling approximately EGP 4.285 billion in trading value.

The sector represented 11.8% of total trading value, while investors traded nearly 678.15 million shares through approximately 94.6 thousand transactions.

Contracting Sector Ranks Fourth

The contracting and engineering construction sector came fourth, recording around EGP 4.032 billion in trading value.

The sector contributed 11.1% of total sector trading, with approximately 1.003 billion shares traded through nearly 93.87 thousand transactions.

Healthcare and Pharmaceuticals Complete the Top Five

The healthcare and pharmaceuticals sector ranked fifth among the leading sectors, recording a trading value of approximately EGP 3.405 billion during the week.

The weekly figures reflect continued trading activity across several major sectors of the Egyptian Exchange, with real estate maintaining the top position by trading value.
