Air Cairo Partners With Baheya to Support Breast Cancer Patients Through Its Flight Network
Air Cairo has signed a cooperation agreement with Baheya Foundation that will use the airline’s flight network to support the foundation’s activities and facilitate air travel for beneficiaries, expanding the carrier’s social impact efforts into healthcare and breast cancer awareness.
The agreement brings together an Egyptian airline with one of the country’s specialized nonprofit organizations providing free breast cancer screening, treatment and support services to women.
The protocol was signed by Hussein Sherif, Chairman and CEO of Air Cairo, and Tamer Shawky, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Baheya Foundation.
Rather than limiting the partnership to financial support, Air Cairo will use part of its core operational infrastructure — its air transport network — to assist Baheya and the women supported by the foundation.
Air Travel Becomes Part of the Support Model
Under the agreement, Air Cairo will provide air transportation services for Baheya Foundation, helping facilitate travel for beneficiaries in accordance with the airline’s available destinations and applicable booking conditions.
The arrangement covers destinations across several international markets served by Air Cairo, including countries in Western and Northern Europe, Africa, Asia, the Gulf and the Levant.
Domestic destinations including Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh are also included.
The partnership additionally provides certain travel benefits for Baheya employees, extending the cooperation beyond beneficiaries to support the foundation’s institutional operations.
Partnership Extends Beyond Transportation
Air Cairo and Baheya are also planning awareness and communications initiatives focused on the importance of early breast cancer detection.
The cooperation will include awareness sessions alongside campaigns using social media and available media channels to expand the reach of Baheya’s message.
That gives the partnership a second dimension beyond transportation: using the airline’s communication reach to help bring breast cancer awareness to a wider audience.
Early detection remains a central part of improving breast cancer outcomes, making awareness campaigns an important complement to screening and treatment services.
Baheya Looks to Private-Sector Partnerships
Tamer Shawky welcomed the cooperation and highlighted the importance of private-sector partnerships in helping Baheya sustain and expand its services.
He said partnerships with companies such as Air Cairo can support the foundation’s ability to continue providing services to women while strengthening the broader ecosystem surrounding its healthcare mission.
For Baheya, the agreement also provides access to capabilities that differ from those typically offered through conventional donations, particularly transportation and communications support.
Air Cairo Expands the Role of Its Network
Hussein Sherif said the partnership reflects Air Cairo’s commitment to supporting humanitarian and healthcare initiatives while using the company’s capabilities to create a wider social impact.
He also highlighted the importance of increasing awareness around early breast cancer detection.
The agreement forms part of Air Cairo’s broader approach to corporate responsibility and sustainability, as the airline seeks to connect its commercial and operational growth with initiatives addressing healthcare, women’s empowerment and community development.
By putting its flight network behind Baheya’s mission, Air Cairo is effectively turning part of its everyday aviation infrastructure into a social-impact tool — linking mobility, healthcare support and breast cancer awareness within a single partnership.
