Four Egyptian Banks Named Among World’s Best-Performing Banks in 2026
Four Egyptian banks have been included in Forbes and Statista’s 2026 ranking of the world’s best-performing banks, which covers 500 institutions across 89 countries and evaluates banking performance across global markets.
Four Egyptian banks make the list
The banks featured in the ranking are the National Bank of Egypt, Commercial International Bank (CIB), Arab African International Bank, and Suez Canal Bank, highlighting the presence of Egyptian lenders in the global banking landscape and their representation within Africa.
According to the Egyptian Cabinet’s Media Center, the National Bank of Egypt ranked 36th globally in the large banks category.
Egyptian banking sector efforts
The Media Center said the Egyptian banks’ presence in the ranking reflects efforts by the country’s banking sector to strengthen financial stability, develop banking services and accelerate digital transformation.
It also pointed to the expansion of financial inclusion, improvements in operational efficiency and efforts to enhance competitiveness as factors supporting the ability of Egyptian banks to gain recognition in international rankings.
