Citi has revised its 12-month outlook for Bitcoin and Ethereum, raising its price targets for both cryptocurrencies as digital-asset investment flows recover and network activity remains strong.

The bank now sees Bitcoin reaching $113,000 over the next 12 months, up from its previous target of $82,000. The revised projection represents an increase of nearly 35% from the earlier estimate.

For Ethereum, Citi raised its target to $3,028 from $2,240, representing an increase of about 12%.

The updated outlook is supported by expectations of renewed demand for cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds. Citi estimates that crypto funds could attract approximately $5 billion in net inflows as financial advisers and wealth managers increase their exposure to digital assets.

The bank also cited broader macroeconomic conditions, including lower bond yields and pressure on the U.S. dollar, as factors contributing to a liquidity environment that remains supportive of riskier assets.

Citi highlighted Bitcoin’s relationship with gold as another factor supporting its potential use as a diversification tool in institutional portfolios.

The latest revision reverses part of the more cautious outlook issued by Citi in July, when the bank reduced its targets following a slowdown in investment flows.

Despite the higher projections, Citi sees greater uncertainty around Ethereum compared with Bitcoin. The bank pointed to the complexity of how value is distributed between Ethereum’s main network and the Layer-2 networks built on top of it.
