Financial AI solutions company ParlexAI has officially joined the sixth cohort of the Visa Africa FinTech Accelerator, launched in Accra, Ghana, with 21 fintech companies from nine African countries operating across 24 markets.

ParlexAI joins 21 African fintech companies

The sixth cohort brings together startups working across areas including stablecoins, agentic commerce, sustainable finance, payments solutions and financial infrastructure. Companies from Niger, Togo and Seychelles are participating for the first time, alongside startups from other African markets.

The launch activities connected participating startups with prominent companies and institutions across Ghana’s and Africa’s fintech ecosystem, including Onafriq, EY Ghana, Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems Limited, GCB Bank PLC, Societe Generale Ghana and MEST Africa.

The engagements gave participating founders opportunities to connect with financial institutions, technology companies and entrepreneurship support communities across the continent.

ParlexAI targets expansion across Africa

ParlexAI develops AI-powered solutions designed to help financial institutions and businesses improve customer engagement. Through the accelerator, the company aims to gain access to expertise, mentorship and connections with founders and leaders across Africa’s fintech ecosystem.

Mohamed Mohsen, Co-founder and CEO of ParlexAI, said joining the sixth cohort represents an important recognition of the company’s progress as an Egyptian business operating at the intersection of artificial intelligence and fintech, particularly given the program’s selective nature.

He added that ParlexAI’s inclusion in the cohort reflects the competitiveness of its technology and the ability of Egyptian companies to develop solutions capable of competing and expanding beyond the domestic market. The company’s goal, he said, is to become one of Africa’s leading providers of AI applications for the financial sector.

Mohsen said the African market presents significant opportunities for AI-powered financial services, including customer service, collections, fraud prevention and process automation. He added that ParlexAI aims to build partnerships with banks, financial institutions and fintech companies across several African markets while leveraging Visa’s network and expertise to accelerate its regional expansion.

Visa accelerator runs for three months

The Visa Africa FinTech Accelerator runs for three months under a hybrid model, including an introductory week, 10 weeks of specialized online sessions, an investor week and a Demo Day connecting startups with investors and venture capital funds.

The program targets startups from Seed to Series A stages with a viable initial product. Its focus areas include new payment flows, embedded finance, merchant and SME enablement, payment infrastructure, the future of financial services, and sustainable and inclusive finance.

Participants may also access potential funding from Visa or Plug and Play and investors attending Demo Day, alongside training in product design, marketing, finance and sales, as well as access to experts, partners and service providers.
