vivo X500 Series Goes Global With 200MP ZEISS Telephoto Camera and 4K 240fps Video
vivo has launched its X500 Series globally, putting long-range photography and cinematic video at the center of its latest flagship smartphone generation as competition increasingly shifts toward professional-grade mobile imaging.
The new lineup comprises the vivo X500 Pro Max, X500 Pro and X500, combining a ZEISS-developed camera system with larger batteries, MediaTek’s latest flagship processors and the new OriginOS 7 operating system.
At the top of the range, the X500 Pro Max introduces a 200MP ZEISS APO Telephoto camera and support for vivo’s second-generation ZEISS Telephoto Extender Ultra, extending the equivalent focal length to as much as 400mm.
The combination signals vivo’s latest attempt to push smartphones further into territory traditionally occupied by dedicated cameras, particularly for distant subjects, events, portraits and video production.
200MP ZEISS Telephoto Leads New Camera System
The X500 Pro Max’s 200MP ZEISS APO Telephoto camera uses an 85mm equivalent focal length and CIPA 7.0 Professional Stabilization, designed to improve handheld shooting at longer focal lengths and in challenging lighting conditions.
The X500 Pro also uses an 85mm equivalent ZEISS APO Telephoto camera, paired with a 64MP vivo × Sony LYTIA 610 sensor.
The standard X500 combines a 72mm equivalent ZEISS APO Telephoto camera with a 50MP ZEISS Pro-Level Ultra-Sensing main camera.
Both Pro models add advanced subject tracking and long-distance motion photography, while the X500 Pro Max supports the second-generation telephoto extender and more than 10 dedicated shooting modes.
vivo Pushes Deeper Into Cinematic Smartphone Video
Video is another major focus of the new generation.
The X500 Pro Max and X500 Pro feature a ZEISS TrueDynamic Main Camera with Cinematic Pro Log Video and 4K Cinematic Portrait Video, giving content creators greater flexibility for shooting and post-production.
The X500 Pro Max raises the specification further with 4K video recording at up to 240 frames per second.
Additional creative modes across the lineup include Film Style, Stage Mode and Movie Workshop, positioning the devices not only as flagship camera phones but also as portable content-production tools.
OriginOS 7 Expands AI and Cross-Device Features
The X500 Series ships with OriginOS 7, combining performance optimization with AI-powered productivity and wider cross-device connectivity.
Origin Workbench is designed to simplify multitasking and file transfers, while Origin Smooth Engine, Ultra-Core Computing, Memory Fusion and Dual Rendering work together to improve system responsiveness.
vivo is also expanding connectivity beyond its own ecosystem. OriginOS 7 supports interaction with products and services including AirPods, Apple Watch, iCloud and Mac through vivo Office Kit.
AI features include Snap & Go, AI Next Up and AI Recorder, which are designed to capture information, organize tasks and transform recordings into structured content.
Up to 7,800mAh Battery With 90W Charging
Large batteries are another defining feature of the X500 generation, with vivo describing them as the biggest capacities yet offered in its X Series.

All three models support 90W wired FlashCharge and 40W wireless charging.
The X500 Pro Max and X500 Pro are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro, while the standard X500 uses the Dimensity 9600M.
ZEISS Displays and IP69 Protection
The X500 family also introduces ZEISS Master Color displays covering 100% of the P3 color gamut and reaching up to 2,000 nits of global peak brightness.
The X500 Pro Max gets a 6.85-inch 2K ZEISS Master Color Display, while the X500 Pro uses a more compact 6.36-inch panel and the X500 features a 6.59-inch screen.
Across the range, vivo is offering IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance, a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, USB 3.2 and an infrared sensor.
The X500 introduces vivo’s Floating Camera Module design, while the two Pro models adopt the company’s Tideline Design.
With the X500 generation, vivo is increasingly treating camera hardware, computational imaging and AI software as parts of the same system rather than separate smartphone features. The 200MP telephoto camera and 400mm extender may grab the headlines, but the larger shift is toward a flagship designed to handle photography, video production and AI-assisted everyday computing within a single device.
